Wayne State University – Lit Walk 2015

Wayne State University Lit-Walk 2015

I will be reading some of my poetry pieces in the 2015 WSU Lit walk. This year I have written and revised select pieces of poetry to submit for consideration. My hard work really made a difference with the coming publication of four poems I have recently penned.

I entered the National Amateur Poetry Competition with a selection I wrote entitled: “The Day Constant.” This piece advanced to the semi-final round and this earned me my very first publication. Eber & Wein Publishing (New Freedom, PA) has a multi-volume series Where the Mind Dwells coming soon and my poem will be featured.

I had another opportunity to enter my pieces for consideration with the Warren Artist Market (WAM). I was notified that three of my poems were accepted. I submitted a piece entitled: One Color Recall which explores the differences in people and celebrates the recollection of a singular connection. I also submitted a piece entitled Flowering Truths which examines my connection with nature through a (one-sided) discussion I had with a flower. My other submission was entitled: Farewell From Claribel. This piece was inspired by the Shakespeare play The Tempest. In it I examine the secret feelings Claribel may have had about her newly arranged marriage–if she had a voice.

I will share these pieces (and more) during the WSU Lit Walk so save the date!

Saturday, September 19, 2015 I’ll be reading in the 2:00pm slot at Socra Tea along with Jim Reese and Kelly Fordon

come on out, enjoy some great talent and allow me to introduce you to some of my most beloved creative treasures!
